Free Ben Folds concert, y'all (update)

So I missed a couple of Ben Folds shows in the city this year but I might just be able to go to this one: Apple Store SoHo on Septermber 6.

Update
From the latest Benfolds.com mailing:

For those of you planning to attend Ben Folds' live, FREE performance at the NYC SOHO Apple Store (103 Prince Street) this coming Tuesday, September 6, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

The Apple Store will distribute 400 wristbands starting at 3PM on Tuesday, September 6.
All fans can start lining up for entry as early as 3:00 PM...

The Apple Store will begin admitting people with wristbands to the second floor at 6:30PM. The first 125 people in line will be granted access to the Theater space, so get there early so you can get one of the best spots!
Ugh. This is going to make it near impossible for me to go.

  • Speaking of which, Ben Folds - iTunes Originals (link opens in iTunes), a 28-track collection which includes 9 re-recorded tracks and an interview is now available.

  • Now, the aforementioned Apple Store performance may or may not have anything to do with Apple's "special event". This would most likely include the announcement of an iTunes-enabled Motorola phone (which might be quite underwhelming).

In any case, Apple only gives a vague promise, "1000 songs in your pocket changed everything. Here we go again."
