Audioscrobblin'
To completely rip off my man False 45th's Audioscrobbler recap, well, here's mine.
For those who are unfamiliar, Audioscrobbler is a little thingie that keeps track of the songs you play on your iTunes and then lets you compare them with your friends, other people in your city, people who share your interests, whatever. Totally useless but fascinating nonetheless
Top 10 artists I listened to last week (by iTunes plays per artist):
1 | The Arcade Fire | 7 |
- | Elliott Smith | 7 |
3 | Outkast | 5 |
- | Little Brother | 5 |
- | Deltron 3030 | 5 |
- | Bloc Party | 5 |
- | Ben Folds | 5 |
- | Nirvana | 5 |
9 | Nas | 4 |
- | Annie | 4 |
No surprises here except Annie. Annie?
Also, Top 10 artists played by New York City Audioscrobbler members (by number of different group members who listened to each artist):
1 | Radiohead | 26 |
2 | Elliott Smith | 23 |
3 | Coldplay | 21 |
4 | The White Stripes | 20 |
- | Modest Mouse | 20 |
6 | Death Cab for Cutie | 19 |
- | Interpol | 19 |
8 | The Beatles | 18 |
9 | Sufjan Stevens | 17 |
- | The Shins | 17 |
Surprised to see Elliott Smith up so high - I thought I was the only one with the navel gazing obsession, and Radiohead getting love since it's been a couple of years since their last release. It helps to have a fairly large and varied catalog. Otherwise, Coldplay and the Beatles are the only real heavyweights in this chart.
Anyhoo, I'll keep an eye on this list here, see how it changes from week to week. But surely there are more people in NY rocking out to "Toxic", no?
